Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. Strings Mentor has been designed to operate without collecting personal data from its users.
The app works locally on your device, does not display advertising, does not use tracking technologies and does not require you to create an account.
1.Personal Data We Collect
Strings Mentor does not collect personal data during normal use of the app.
Your learning progress, including information such as notes practised, exercise results, scores, streaks, stars and spaced-repetition data, is stored locally on your device.
This information is not sent to our servers and is not shared with us or with third parties.
If you delete the app or remove its data from your device, locally stored learning progress may also be deleted.
2.Analytics, Advertising and Tracking
Strings Mentor:
- does not use analytics tools;
- does not display advertising;
- does not use advertising identifiers;
- does not create behavioural profiles;
- does not track users across apps or websites;
- does not sell or share personal data for advertising purposes.
The current version of the app does not include third-party SDKs intended to collect information about user behaviour.
3.User Accounts
You do not need to create an account to use Strings Mentor.
During normal use of the app, we do not ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number or other personally identifiable information.
4.Future and Optional Features
In the future, Strings Mentor may introduce optional features that require limited data processing, such as an account that allows learning progress to be synchronised between devices.
If such functionality is introduced, it may require information such as:
- your email address;
- learning progress required for synchronisation.
Any such functionality will remain optional.
This Privacy Policy will be updated before any feature is introduced that significantly changes the way personal data is processed.
5.Microphone Access
Strings Mentor may include an optional mode that uses your device’s microphone to analyse the sound produced by your instrument and provide real-time feedback, for example on pitch and rhythm.
Microphone permission is requested only when you use a feature that requires microphone access.
When this feature is used:
- audio is processed locally on your device;
- audio is not sent to our servers;
- audio is not shared with third parties;
- audio is not used for advertising or profiling;
- audio is not stored by the app after real-time processing.
You can deny or withdraw microphone permission at any time through your device settings.
6.Children’s Privacy
Strings Mentor may be used by children and has been designed with data minimisation in mind.
The app does not require an account, does not display advertising and does not collect personal data during normal use.
Accordingly, we do not intentionally collect personal information from children through the app.
If future functionality involves the collection or processing of personal data, this Privacy Policy will be reviewed and appropriate safeguards will be implemented before that functionality becomes available.
7.Strings Mentor Website
The official Strings Mentor website is designed to collect as little information as possible from visitors.
We do not use advertising cookies or our own behavioural tracking technologies.
However, the hosting provider may automatically generate technical server logs that are necessary for the operation and security of the website. These may include information such as:
- IP address;
- date and time of access;
- browser type;
- server requests;
- technical information relating to errors or security.
These logs are part of the normal operation of the hosting infrastructure and are not used by us to create user profiles or to associate website activity with use of the Strings Mentor app.
8.App Distribution Platforms
If you download Strings Mentor through platforms such as the Apple App Store or Google Play, those platforms may process certain information in accordance with their own privacy policies.
Any such processing is carried out by Apple, Google or the relevant platform provider and is outside the direct control of Strings Mentor.
9.Security and Local Storage
Because learning progress is stored locally on your device, its protection also depends on the security features provided by your operating system and your own device settings, such as passcodes, biometric authentication and device security.
We do not maintain a remote copy of this information in the current version of the app.
10.Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when necessary to reflect changes to the app, legal requirements or new functionality.
The updated version will be published on this page together with the revised date.
Where a significant change involves a new form of personal data processing, this Privacy Policy will be updated before that functionality is made available.
